Today we’re talking about modern decor and sharing a mood board that showcases the style! We have a few very minimal, modern themed projects coming up and and they’ve been so fun to design. There is something about each project style that we love, and when it comes to designing a modern space we love the minimal, clean, and peaceful feeling that it evokes. Here are some tips for designing your own modern space:
When choosing wall details or paint colors, stick with neutral tones and don’t be afraid to add texture! Think plaster walls, concrete fireplaces, white and slate black marble tile, steel, and glass.
Use natural wood tones. When choosing furniture pieces for modern projects we love incorporating natural and neutral wood-toned statement pieces like a sideboard, coffee table, or side table. Or think about adding a fluted built-in piece that will add an architectural element to the space.
When choosing furniture, keep it minimal and choose pieces with clean lines and neutral colored fabrics.
Keep your accessories simple. Use minimal styling pieces, sticking with the same tone and textures of the room. When choosing throws and pillows, stick with solid colors and minimal prints.
Think about storage. Modern homes are often very minimal and uncluttered, often incorporating unique storage options to store everyday items.
