The Light and Dwell Team Office
Right before Covid hit, Aymee and I were looking at buying an office space in town. Luckily, we never did that, because we didn’t need one! Before Covid, Ayms and I thought our team would grow locally, but our team has now grown to be full of women all across the country (and Canada… shout out, Jane)! Our team of amazing women, all work remotely for the most part, but we still really need a home base office for all of our materials, samples, and conference meetings. Ayms and I still work together about once a week, and with her recent move, we really needed a good office space for the two of us to come together and work when needed.
Inside the Kidd European Farmhouse we finally have a space for our team to gather! This has been months and months of work (I’m looking at you crazy long lead times!) and we are so excited to share it with you all today. Our team is mostly remote however there are times when we need to gather and I am so happy to finally have the space to do so. We partnered with some INCREDIBLE brands for this space and it wouldn’t have come together without them (see sources below).
This space is very versatile as it needed to be able to flex to accommodate our team, but not feel overly spacious when it’s just me working at my desk. To accommodate this flow, I have my corner desk for daily work. The Shaw Table by Rejuvenation is perfect for gathering when our team needs to come in for meetings and collaborative work. I am a big proponent of style in addition to practicality. The Danson Chair is the perfect blend of both, they are sooo comfortable (the team can attest to this) and the leather tie back detail is the perfect nod to our organic style.
Now for my favorite part…. a place for all my samples! I wish I had a before picture for you of how I had my samples organized before our semi-custom cabinetry from Kokeena was installed (spoiler alert, there was no organization). Now everything has a home. Another favorite detail is my custom cafe curtain for the mini fridge. I love adding elements like this to make the design feel that much more custom to our teams needs. Speaking of, our team relies heavily on coffee, so we knew we needed to prioritize a space for this in the office. how good does that Ratio Coffee Maker look on the counter?! and Whiskey and Clay never fails to take my breath away with her custom pottery.
