Weekly Archive XXVII
Our Aesthetic, Packing for Utah, Cottage in the Trees Soft Finishes and Austin Ranch Update!
Light and Dwell Design Style
This week we shared more about what the Light and Dwell aesthetic is and what design styles we work within. The following 6 powder bath designs represent each of the styles - Traditional, Mountain Ranch, Modern, Earthy/Organic, European-Inspired, and Cottage/Tudor.
Each of these styles reflect the Light and Dwell brand has they all have natural, textured elements, the plumbing finishes are unlacquered brass, color schemes are all neutral, warm, earthy, there is a mix between vintage and new items for every design. All the countertops are marble or soapstone. Nothing feels busy, and everything is intentional and timeless for that particular style.
Utah Install Prep
Ready or not, Utah here we come! The week leading up to an install, it’s always hard to believe that it’s so close to the end. Our team works 2+ years, with weekly (sometimes daily) communication on these projects. This client first reached out to us when they were looking for land, and knew they wanted to work with us on the design work. It’s been a journey, and watching this project go up has been really special. This client really trusted us, and that shows off in the design. When the client really trusts you, it shows in the end result! The client is incredibly happy, and sent me a text this past week saying she was in tears just thinking about the install being next week. Music to my ears. Can’t wait to share more next week, it will be 7 full days, from sun up till sundown, madness. Can’t wait!
Here’s what’s in my bag…

Cottage in the Trees Design
I’ve been working on the soft finishes for Aymee’s project, and I am finding some good things! Currently crushing over the beginning stages of the dining room furniture designs.
