Nordstrom x Parachute x Light & Dwell

A real “pinch us” moment

Earlier this week, we had the honor of hosting a “Bespoke Bedroom and Bathroom” styling live event with Nordstrom and Parachute. In this live, we share how to transform your space into a designer-approved retreat using pieces from Parachute and more at Nordstrom Home. Didn’t get a chance to watch it? Check it our here and shop the looks below!

The thing we love most about Parachute is their quality. From expert craftsmanship and using only the finest of materials, Parachute has become a staple in every one of our projects. So when we were asked to partner with them on a styling session, we were honored to accept and with Nordstrom nonetheless! Two brands we really align with in the industry and are excited to have relationships with.

Firstly, can we talk about this new Raisin color way? We are seeing earthy tones in almost every room of the house this season. During Fall and Winter, seasonal colors should become warmer and richer, creating a more lived-in look. Raisin is this really tailored neutral with leisurely notes of boldness and brings in an organic element. Think changing hues of old-age oak trees here in Oregon.

It pairs perfectly with our tried and true Parachute color of choice: Bone. Bone carries slight contrast and creates relaxed refinement effortlessly. It is the most timeless of all and the ultimate “base” to building layers.

Our signature bed & bath look has timeless lived-in layers with unconventional twists. For the bed, we start with linen sheets and use building blocks like the utility quilt and linen quilt to create depth and texture. The duvet cover is that final layer that adds volume at the end of the bed for a hotel-like feeling. These are also great layers for different seasons depending on your preferences! In the Fall and Winter in Oregon, we love to cozy up with Parachutes lavish linens so the more quilts, the merrier for us! Our minimal pillow approach comes from an inspiration of clean lines and a mixture of form and function (your husbands can thank us later). Lately, we are all about keeping the pillows flat in the back for a simple profile and elongating the room with a larger than life body pillow that adds just the right amount of elevated interest. We may or may not have stuffed extra sleeping pillows in our bar-cart style side tables for when your little crawls into bed with you in the middle of the night.

Bathrooms can be tough to “warm up” so we add a vintage piece every time. Wether an antique stool or wooden chair, there is something magical about the juxtaposition of new and old. We especially love a antique furniture find in front of the tub for organic contrast. Where else are you supposed to put your towels or seasonal candle? This is also mainly why we almost only use unlacquered brass in all of our projects. The homely tones of patina finishes are just the right touch of character and luxury.

We just wanted to say the biggest thank you to Parachute and Nordstrom for thinking of us for this event. We cannot wait to do more collabs with these brands in the future and share it with all of you! Thank you to everyone who watched and supported or is going to use our tips to transition your space into Fall. Don’t forget to tag us in your Light and Dwell inspired designs
