Looking back on 2020

As we wrap up on the year 2020 and all the tribulations it has brought, we wanted to say thank you to all of you who have followed along! One of the difficult aspects of all this has been the feeling of disconnect. We hope to have brought some form of connection back to your lives through our community here at Light & Dwell. Looking forward to 2021, we wish everyone a hope-filled and healthy new year!

While we spent more time at home than ever this past year, it became an even more important function in our everyday lives. Below are some highlights we experienced in this difficult year.

Kidd Home

Back in February we moved into our dream home. So many of you have been so kind and shared in our excitement throughout the entire build process. Building our own home wasn’t something we thought we’d do for a long time and were so grateful for the opportunity. We were very hands on throughout the entire process, on the site daily, and worked with a contractor who let us do a lot of the work ourselves. We thought through everything, and were so excited to share it all with you this year!

Vegas Market

We went to Vegas for market, and had a lot of fun as team! We were in bed by 9 every night, and up early collecting new vendors and inspiration for our projects. To be honest, we were pretty discouraged our first day finding any vendors with ethical practices. But, there’s hope! Day two, was a great success! We found some amazing new vendors, that have artisans worldwide that use ethical practices and sustainable materials to use in our ongoing mission of bringing that focus to Light & Dwell.

Wolverine Drive

We were so excited to finally share our Wolverine Drive Project with you this year! This project started over two years ago, and we installed it this past August. It’s a mix between contemporary, modern, and earthy styles, which makes it unique to our clients!

Nashville

This past fall we took a trip to Tennessee to check in on our House on the Hill project. While we were there we stopped by ABLE headquarters and met with some of their amazing team members, got a tour, and try on some of their amazing clothes and accessories. As we aim to be a company that sources sustainable products, it’s companies like ABLE that we want to partner with and support!

Avenues Project

We installed our Avenues Project earlier this month and can’t wait to reveal this space soon!

Growing Team

We were so excited to grow our team this past year! We have added the following roles to our team (Marketing Director, Product Specialist, Technical Designer and Virtual Designer) and cannot wait to see everyone develop in their roles and take Light & Dwell to the next level in 2021!

Most Loved Products

As we are continuing our focus on sustainability in our blog and shop, we were excited to see that a lot of your favorites this year lined up with this mission. We’ve rounded up our most loved products from 2020 below.
