2021 Resolutions

Today we are sharing our resolutions and favorite productivity items for the new year. Each year I like to come up with a word that I want to focus on throughout the year. This year we asked our team to share theirs as well and how we will put them into action. Hope this inspires you into thinking about resolutions in a new way as we head into 2021!

I resolve to practice “observing”. My instinct is to assess quickly and to do. 2020 has taught me to slow down, notice, and have fresh eyes to see.

Action step: I love walks…walking without listening to something so I can truly be present and observe.

Jennie (Product Specialist)

Thinking forward to 2021, the word “patience” comes to mind. I resolve to admire the journey and to not rush the present.

Action step: Take the time to appreciate the now, operate stress-free in the unknown and cherish the slow down.

Lauren (Marketing Director)

My word is “diligence”. I found this helped define my resolve to be both steadfast but careful in my efforts. Seeing the job through in each aspect of my life whether that be relationships, career, or health related and placing a focus on even the smallest moments.

Action Step: Waking up at an earlier time to have space for journaling, exercise and other things that seem to get pushed down the priority list as I go through my day.

Hannah (Virtual Designer)

My word for 2021 is “focus”. When thinking of a word I wanted it to relate to all aspects of my life, whether that be work, relationships, or spiritually, I wanted it to be able to connect. There is always an opportunity to put more focus into all of those areas.

Action Step: Setting aside more time to give my full focus to those areas. Scheduling out my day and having more structure to allow myself the time to focus on those things.

Molly

I resolve to think about “quality” over quantity in 2021. Whether it’s racing through my “to-do” list, purchasing an item, spending time with people, or living life out of impulse,

Action step: I am putting my phone away from 5 on so I can focus on spending time with my family and a good nights sleep! An email, text, or social scroll can wait ;)

Maite (Technical Designer)

My phrase for the next year is to "live in the “present". I always try to organize and make plans and this year, so special, I learned that I can't control everything.

Action step: Find a moment for some outdoor activity, that makes me focus just on the present!

Jane (Lead Virtual Designer)

My word for 2021 is “intentional” whether it’s with my time, family, design details or personal activities, I want to more intentional in my decisions, interactions, and time! Being less “busy”, but more effective!

Action step: Getting snowboarding passes! Sounds funny, but it’s an intentional date time for me and my husband, rather than just watching tv/getting dinner!

All of us at Light & Dwell wish you a happy new year!
