Dwell Well Shop

Our foundational furniture line is finally here! Shipping and handling is on us…

Every custom piece is first dreamed up with a specific project in mind. Intentional curves, and spheres for added interest and softness are something I’m always drawn to in wood pieces. For the Charli, the curves give it an added lived in, elevated feel. I worked with one of the designers on our team to draw the Charli with our client in mind. This client was open to innovation, and we knew they’d love the one of a kind wave nightstand. The piece is extra large, with practical storage and function in mind. Many times, nightstands don’t offer the depth or space that is actually needed for function. My first test is, “does this fit an oversized lamp? If not, it’s not deep enough!” This is why we end up designing so many custom pieces for our clients. You can’t find this thought in store bought pieces. For the Ruby Console, it was heavily influenced by a European vintage piece. The vintage piece we found wasn’t the correct dimensions or stain, so we decided to design our own. This piece has so many beautiful details. The sphere finials on the legs are what make this piece feel elevated and vintage. Something extra special about the Ruby is that it’s named after mine and Aymee’s Grandmas who were incredible power house women, paving a way and leaving an impact on our lives. With each custom piece, we never want to design anything that feels trendy or too “of the moment.” These pieces have the intention of being passed down from generation to generation. These pieces are elevated, because they’re sourced from sustainable, local PNW oak tress, and every piece is hand stained to perfection. The finishes are a perfect matte, not shiny or uneven, with then intention of aging well over time. The Charli and Ruby are pieces of art, pieces that make you stop, appreciate, and have major impact.

Aymee and I have been talking about a shop for years and years. It’s something we knew was in our future, but the timing was something we’ve wanted to be wise about. Our current team is one that is small, but mighty. Let me brag for a minute, and tell you a bit about the process and all the hands on our team that make it work.

With intention in mind, we knew our shop would be a soft launch. Each piece we create, every vendor we decide to slowly add to our shop, will be well thought out with lots of intention and curation. If you go on the internet, there are a million shops selling from the same wholesale vendors, which is amazing, but not something we want to do. We want our shop to feel elevated, exclusive, and tailored to those who care about sustainability, quality, and one of a kind designs. The purpose and dream is have pieces on our shop that you can’t find in many places, those items that you’ve been searching for but can never find. We also believe strongly in shopping small, and supporting local makers with incredible wholistic craft. We have a few vendors, products in the works and we can’t wait to share them!

We have always wanted our furniture to feel wholeheartedly home. After many years of creating custom pieces for our clients, visiting inspirational places, growing passion for craftsmanship and a desire to create a sensible & sustainable home collection, our Dwell Well Shop is finally here. From bespoke everyday goods to thoughtfully designed statement pieces, our collection sets the foundation for a sustainable home with hand-crafted, heirloom-quality essentials.

Maker’s Note

THE STORY BEHIND THE HAND

Authentically handmade in an Oregon wood atelier by an experienced carpenter, our Dwell Well pieces are a reflection of our core principles: sensibility and sustainability. Hints why quality craftsmanship was top of mind while working with our woodworker on using sustainably harvested white oak on all of our foundational furniture to assure strength and longevity. These pieces are hand-crafted to last a lifetime. Say hello to your new custom heirlooms!

Our maker is such a great partner because his commitment to sustainability is unmatched. He wont work with any materials that are not sustainably harvested; meaning he partners with local companies to let him know when a tree has fallen and harvests from that. He will never use material from an oak or other species that has been cut down. Once in the shop; each piece is crafted by hand- no large machinery is used: adding to the level of sustainability. Staines are water based and naturally derived.
